Did You Know?

Learning something new everyday is one of my critical philosophies of life. This could be a new piece of information, or something new that you have learned about yourself or others. Either way, it is valuable and makes you more of who you are each day. So to help you along, I have added a few tid bits here for you. Enjoy.  

About the Teepee Poles
In the Cree culture, every Teepee made contains 15 poles and each pole of the teepee represents a value. Those poles suround them every day to remind them of the basic key values in life. The 15 values are listed below: (Thanks to Cheryl for the link and lesson

Obedience
- Learning by listening to know what is right or wrong.

Respect
- Honouring each other’s basic rights.

Humility
- To understand our relationship with the Creator and creation.

Happiness
- Our actions make our ancestors happy in the next world.

Love
- To live in harmony; kindness and goodness.

Faith
- To believe in a power greater than ourselves.

Kinship
- The roots that tie us to the lifeblood of the earth.

Cleanliness
- Good health habits reflects a clean mind.

Thankfulness
- Giving thanks for other’s kindness and the Creator’s gifts.

Sharing
- Providing for each other.

Strength
- Accepting difficulties and tragedies and the having patience to endure.

Good Child Rearing
- Children are unique and blessed with the gift of life.

Hope
- Hope for better things to make life easier for us.

Ultimate Protection
- Ultimate responsibility to achieve a healthy balance of body, mind, emotions, and spirit.

Control Flaps
- Connection of all things controls and creates harmony in our life.

Women in Communications

We are here in Banff, AB with women from across Canada in the New Media Career Acellerator program. It has been a faboulus experience. Collaborating with incredible women, sharing ideas, expanding our minds and insipring each other. I have enjoyed every minute so far. Learning new media formats such as Web 2.0 applications like blogging. I’m looking forward to what the rest of the week has to bring including cross country skiing and our games night in Banff. I’m also looking forward to building the many relationships that I have already started here at Banff.

Women from accross Canada have gathered in the beautiful setting of Banff Natioanl park. Ideas were shared and generated and we have created a cycle of learning and insirpation. Where will this all go?

MEME: A unit of cultural information that is tranfered from one unit to another.

The women here plan to be meme’s within our organizations and within the spheres of our personal lives.

What is a MMORPG? A game which you create your own avatar in a virtual reality. There is commerce, trading, building and creating. your only limitation is your imagination. I would love to live in my own MMORPG. What would your MMORPG look like?
